FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What age groups do you serve?

Florida Legacy Volleyball welcomes athletes from 8 to 18 years old. Our diverse training programs cater to various skill levels, ensuring that every participant can develop their abilities, gain confidence, and contribute positively to the team's dynamic.

How do I join a team?

To join a team at Florida Legacy, you can visit our website and fill out the registration form. We encourage newcomers to attend available clinics, where they'll meet our coaches and learn more about our coaching style while meeting future teammates.

What is your training philosophy?

At Florida Legacy Volleyball, we believe great athletes are built through purposeful training, consistent effort, and a love for the game. Our coaching philosophy focuses on developing fundamentally sound players through high-repetition, game-like training that emphasizes proper technique, volleyball IQ, and confidence under pressure.

We prioritize quality ball contacts, individual skill development, and competitive drills that translate directly to match performance. Every athlete is challenged at their current level while being given the tools and support needed to reach the next one.

Beyond volleyball skills, we are committed to building strong character, accountability, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We strive to create a positive, family-oriented environment where athletes feel supported, valued, and motivated to pursue excellence both on and off the court.

At Florida Legacy, we aren't just developing volleyball players—we're building confident athletes, strong teammates, and lasting legacies.

Do players need prior experience?

No! Clinics and private lessons are open to players of all skill and experience levels. Club teams are more competitive, but we do offer developmental teams, especially at the younger age levels. We encourage athletes of all levels to participate as our goal is to grow a passion for the sport while developing strong, competitive players.

What tournaments do you attend?

Tournament schedules vary by season and age level. This past season, all of our teams played in a minimum of 7 tournaments in a variety of locations including: Tavares, Winterhaven, Oviedo, Georgia, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Tampa, and Wesley Chapel.

What makes Florida Legacy different?

Florida Legacy Volleyball was founded on the belief that every athlete deserves access to quality coaching, meaningful development, and a positive club experience—regardless of their financial circumstances.

Both of our club directors grew up in low-income households and understand firsthand that the cost of youth sports can create barriers for talented, hardworking athletes. Because of those experiences, Florida Legacy was built with a mission to provide a high-level volleyball club that remains accessible and affordable for families. We are committed to keeping costs as reasonable as possible while still delivering quality coaching, competitive opportunities, and a rewarding athlete experience.

Our priority is long-term athlete development. We emphasize skill progression, volleyball IQ, confidence, leadership, and character while creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and valued. We believe success is measured by the growth of each player both on and off the court.

At Florida Legacy, athletes become part of a family. We foster a culture of encouragement, accountability, sportsmanship, and teamwork where every player matters. Our goal is to help athletes reach their potential while ensuring that the opportunity to play competitive volleyball remains available to as many families as possible.

We're not just building volleyball players—we're building confidence, character, community, and a legacy that lasts far beyond the game.
